New Market Area Museum is currently closed for the winter.

The New Market Area Museum has been established in the old Elementary School Building at 608 Lafayette St.

2022 Hours:

The museum will be open Saturday afternoon May 28, 2022 from 2:00pm - 4:00pm, before the All School Banquet.

Beginning May 29, 2022:

Sunday 2:00pm - 4:00pm

Tuesday 9:00am-11:00am

History of the New Market Area Museum

After dissolution of the New Market School District in 2008, the elementary building remained empty until 2015 when a group of volunteers began renovations on the building to establish a museum.  After many hours and much work, the museum had it's grand opening and robbon cutting in June 2019.
